Kentucky Derby Week begins here. Celebrate the 152nd Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks post-position draws at Churchill Downs Opening Day, a day to honor old traditions and spark new ones. Opening Day kicks things off with exciting racing and family-friendly fun, live entertainment, and plenty of room to soak in the springtime buzz. It’s a warm, spirited, and inviting start to Derby Week for the whole family to enjoy!

Sunday racing will make its return to Kentucky Derby Week for the first time since 2010, adding an extra layer of excitement to an already electric week at Churchill Downs. The historic comeback will give the community an additional day to soak in the tradition, pageantry, and seasonal fun, with a full slate of brunch experiences popping up around the track. From festive morning cocktails to breakfast bites and trackside views, SundayFunday will set the tone for a week of celebration leading up to the Run for the Roses.

Dawn at the Downs is a cherished tradition for both Louisvillians and visitors alike. Racing fans gather to watch Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks contenders during their morning workouts, all while selecting their favorites for the weekend's races.

502’sDay returns for its fourth year, shining the spotlight on what truly makes this city special – the community. General Admission is $5. Guests are encouraged to “Shop Local” and wear outfits from Louisville’s local shops and boutiques.
