Next Best Place to Watch and Wager on Breeders' Cup is Churchill Downs

Don’t have tickets to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Keeneland Race Course? The next best place to watch and wager on the year-end championship event in Kentucky is Churchill Downs Racetrack.

Churchill Downs will be open Friday, Oct. 30 at 11:30 a.m. (all times Eastern) and Saturday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. for a simulcast of the two-day Breeders’ Cup. General admission is $3.

All of the racing action will be broadcast on Churchill Downs’ massive ultra-high definition “Big Board” – the world’s largest 4K video screen – and other television monitors throughout the facility. The first, second and third floors of the Clubhouse will be open and fans can sit outdoors in box seats if they choose.

Churchill Downs is offering special Breeders’ Cup dining packages on Millionaires Row 4 that include admission; a reserved dining seat in an indoor climate-controlled setting; commemorative official Breeders’ Cup program; and delicious Chef’s Table buffet lunch, afternoon hot snack and dessert bar. Flat-screen televisions, a cash bar and plenty of mutuel tellers and self-service wagering machines are conveniently located throughout the spacious room to easily place bets. Also, a four-tiered balcony that overlooks the racetrack with a prime view of the 15,000-square-foot Big Board is just steps away.

The first race at Keeneland on Friday’s 10-race card is 12:30 p.m. with the four Breeders’ Cup races going between 3:30-5:35 p.m. as Races 6-9. Saturday’s 12-race program begins at 11 a.m. and the remaining eight Breeders’ Cup events go as Races 3-11 from 12:05-5:35 p.m. The last race from Keeneland on both days is 6:10 p.m.

Saturday’s $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (Grade I), the marquee event for 3-year-olds and up at 1 ¼ miles, will be the final race of Triple Crown-winner American Pharoah’s illustrious career. It will go as Race 11 at 5:35 p.m.

Commemorative official Breeders’ Cup programs and a limited number of 2015 Breeders’ Cup glassware will be sold on track.

After the two-day Breeders’ Cup, racing on the Kentucky circuit will return to Churchill Downs for the 21-day Fall Meet, which commences Sunday, Nov. 1 at 12:40 p.m. with the popular “Stars of Tomorrow I” program – a racing card exclusively for 2-year-olds.
