More Two-Day Seating Under Cover Available in Section 110 for Kentucky Derby, Oaks

While media and office chatter this week might be dominated by basketballs and brackets, Churchill Downs offers a question that also serves as a gentle reminder: Are you ready for the 2013 Kentucky Derby?

The countdown to the 139^th Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (Grade I) and the Kentucky Oaks (GI) is closing in on the 40-day mark. But despite the dwindling days on the calendar, Derby and Oaks fans still have a great opportunity to avoid the uncertainties of the secondary ticket market and purchase seats for those fantastic days of fun, food and racing directly from Churchill Downs via the track’s online box office at www.KentuckyDerby.com.

Churchill Downs has Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks seating available for purchase while you continue your search for the perfect hat, dress or suit. Two-day Derby and Oaks seating packages are available in the new Section 110 on the track’s first turn. They include a new offering of approximately 600 seats located under cover, compliments of Stella Artois, the official beer of the Kentucky Derby.

Offered this year for the first time, Section 110 will provide Derby and Oaks fans with the iconic “Clubhouse Turn” (or first turn) view of the legendary Twin Spires from the comfort of Churchill Downs’ first tip-up, stadium-style seats. All tickets for Derby and Oaks seating in Section 110 offer on-site hospitality that includes food and drink.

Section 110 offers a pair of two-day ticket options:  

• Seating Under Cover: Thanks to Stella Artois, under cover seats are available that offer full hospitality (including food and drink), easy access to wagering and restrooms, and a complimentary Stella Artois commemorative Kentucky Derby 139 Chalice. Price:  $799 per person.

• Open-Air Seating: Offers full hospitality (including food and drink) with easy access to wagering and restrooms. Price: $698 per person.

The two-day Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks seating packages in Section 110 are available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis.   Click on the red “tickets” button when you visit the online box office at www.KentuckyDerby.com.

General admission tickets for both the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks also can be purchased through the online box office at prices lower than the walk-up purchase price on respective day of those events.

Kentucky Derby general admission tickets are $40 each and the price is $25 for the Oaks if purchased in advance of the respective day of each event. A walk-up general admission ticket purchased on Kentucky Derby Day will cost $50, while the price for walk-up general admission to the Kentucky Oaks on the day of the event will rise to $30.
