TOC Withholds Santa Anita and Golden Gate Signals

Jan 23, 2009 Churchill Downs Corporate Communications

To our valued patrons:

We have been notified by the Thoroughbred Owners of California that they have exercised their right under the Interstate Horseracing Act to withdraw authorization for the Los Angeles Turf Club (Santa Anita) and Pacific Racing Association (Golden Gate) to transmit the signals of their races to, or accept wagering from, many Churchill Downs Incorporated betting systems, including Arlington Park, Churchill Downs, Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, and their related inter-track and off-track wagering facilities. Until this issue is resolved, those locations will be unable to accept wagers on or show the signal from Santa Anita and Golden Gate Fields. We are very sorry that the TOC's action has caused this inconvenience for you.

The Santa Anita and Golden Gate Fields signals remain available on TwinSpires.com and at Calder Race Couse. We will keep you informed on our progress as we work to get the signals restored at all other CDI properties.

Customers who wish to express their concerns or opinions may contact the TOC directly by calling toll-free at (800) 994-9909.
