Mar 19, 2012 Darren Rogers
For the third consecutive year, Churchill Downs and NBC have partnered to give one person the chance to place a life-changing $100,000 win bet in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands on Saturday, May 5.
Two years ago, Glen Fullerton of Houston won $900,000 when Super Saver won the Kentucky Derby at odds of 8-1. Last year, Dave “Rico” Flores of Chicago came close but fell short when Mucho Macho Man finished third behind Animal Kingdom.
Now it’s your turn. U.S. residents age 21 and over can enter this year’s $100,000 Kentucky Derby DreamBet contest online via Twitter and/or Facebook until Saturday, April 14 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Simply follow CNBC on Twitter and send the following tweet: “I want to win the @CNBC #derbydreambet.” Also, Facebook users can enter the contest by visiting the CNBC (www.facebook.com/cnbc), NBC Sports (www.facebook.com/NBCSports) or Kentucky Derby (www.facebook.com/KentuckyDerby) Facebook pages and complete the sweepstakes entry form appearing on each page to be considered for the grand prize.
One lucky fan will be selected at random at the end of the promotion period to win a VIP trip for two to the 2012 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks (includes airfare, lodging and ground transportation) and the chance to place a $100,000 win bet on any horse in the Kentucky Derby. If the horse wins, they’ll keep the winnings.
“Participating in the Derby Dream Bet experience will forever be one of my greatest life experiences,” said Fullerton, whose reaction delivered a memorable television moment when captured on NBC Sports’ coverage of the Kentucky Derby.
NBC Sports’ exclusive coverage of Kentucky Derby 138 on Saturday, May 5 will air from 4-7 p.m. ET – the centerpiece of 14 hours of Kentucky Derby Week coverage on NBC Sports and NBC Sports Network.
