Last year’s Debutante (Grade III) winner Blueeyesintherein, the lone 3-year-old in the field of five fillies and mares, cruised to a 4 ¾-length victory in the $55,860 Thursday afternoon feature at Churchill Downs.

Trained by Garry Simms and ridden by Leandro Goncalves, Blueeyesintherein completed the six furlongs in 1:11.08 on the fast main track.

Dorothy Self, Barry King and Travis Morgeson V LLC’s Blueeyesintherein, winner of the Instant Racing at Oaklawn Park in April, rated in second behind Teroda in the opening stages of the race and then pulled Goncalves to the lead nearing the top of the lane. She increased her advantage to two lengths by the eighth-pole and then drew off effortlessly.

A dark bay or brown daughter of Magna Graduate, Blueeyesintherein improved her career record to 4-0-0 from five starts and her earnings increased to $184,556 with Thursday’s check of $34,200. Her lone defeat came when she finished fifth in the Eight Belles Presented by Xerox (GIII) on Kentucky Oaks Day.

Blueeyesintherein was the 6-5 favorite and returned $4.60, $2.80 and $2.20. Same Cross, under Rosie Napravnik, finished second and returned $3.20 and $2.20 with Sly Warrior a head-back in third under Ricardo Santana Jr. and returning $2.20 to show.
