Churchill Downs, Louisville Cardinal Football Team Again With 'Pigskins & Ponies' Ticket Package

Neighbors Churchill Downs and the University of Louisville football Cardinals are teaming again to offer fans “Pigskins & Ponies Presented by Kroger”, a special ticket package to a late October weekend of exciting Cardinal football and spectacular Fall Meet racing at the home of the Kentucky Derby.
For only $25 per person, fans who purchase the limited “Pigskins & Ponies Presented by Kroger” ticket packages will enjoy an ultimate Louisville fall sports weekend as they watch Coach Charlie Strong’s Cardinals take on Big East Conference rival Syracuse on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, followed on Sunday, Oct. 30 by an exciting afternoon of racing on the opening day of the 21-day Fall Meet at the world famous home of the Kentucky Derby.
The “Pigskins & Ponies” ticket package provides a seat in the upper deck of the expanded Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium for the Cardinals’ noon (all times Eastern) game against the Orangemen on Saturday, and a reserved seat (with racing program) on Millionaires Row or Skye Terrace for Sunday’s racing, with food and beverage available for purchase. Churchill Downs admission gates open at 11:30 a.m. and first post is 12:40 p.m.
The “Pigskins & Ponies” weekend will include a halftime drawing at the stadium for a box seat to the 2012 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks. Fans can enter to win by texting “PONIES” to 44144. Standard text message rates may apply. During Sunday’s races, fans will have the opportunity to participate in on-track drawings before each of the day’s 11 races for tickets to 2012 Cardinal home football games. Mascot Churchill Charlie will appear at the stadium during the football game, while U of L’s Cardinal Bird and U of L cheerleaders will be at the track on Sunday.

If you already have already purchased a ticket for the Cardinals’ game against Syracuse, you can bring your game-day ticket for complimentary admission to Churchill Downs on Sunday, Oct. 30.
