Mar 05, 2015 Darren Rogers

Simulcast wagering at Churchill Downs Racetrack has been cancelled for Thursday, March 5 after a major winter storm dropped 8 to 12 inches of snow in the Louisville area and made hazardous travel conditions. Additionally, the racetrack’s offices will be closed.

Simulcast wagering at Churchill Downs is scheduled to resume Friday, March 6 at 11:30 a.m. ET. Friday also marks the re-opening of the barn area following its annual winter break in advance of the Spring Meet. The first day of training is scheduled for Saturday, although that is subject to change because of the heavy snowfall.

Opening Night for the 2015 Spring Meet is 51 days away on Saturday, April 25. The 141st running of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands will be staged in 58 days on Saturday, May 2.
